This year was one of the toughest we’ve experience in northern Saskatchewan. From extended wildfire seasons that disrupted the lives of families and the land we call home, to unpredictable environmental pressures that affected wild rice growth and harvest conditions, 2025 reminded us all of just how connected our well-being is to the health of our community and the place we’re proud to steward.
One of the highlights of our year was having the opportunity to support the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Facility. The new facility is the product of a collective effort to ensure our seniors and neighbours will have a modern, culturally inclusive care home right here in the north. We’ve watched and supported closely because it reflects the spirit that defines northern Saskatchewan and our commitment to not just growing and sharing quality wild rice, but being a partner in our community.
Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and neighbour who continues to build, give and care for this land and it’s people.
